Mike Sacchetta is an Audio Engineer and avid maker. Born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Mike earned his Certificate in Pre-Music Production and Diploma in Music Industry Arts at Algonquin College in Ottawa before coming home to complete his Bachelor of Arts in Music at Algoma University.
In his life before Maker North, Mike designed and acoustically treated a 3-room recording studio in Nepean and worked as an Audio Engineer with a focus on podcast editing.
While at school in Ottawa, Mike was introduced to a makerspace at the Ottawa Public Library where he fell in love with the laser cutter and 3D printers. When he moved back to Sault Ste. Marie, he could not access 3D printers locally so Mike built his own! Now, with many, many, MANY hours of printing time to his credit, Mike leads our design and prototyping service at Maker North. As a host in our makerspace and course / workshop facilitator, Mike is thrilled to share his passion for these incredible technologies with members and clients alike.
